Browning® Outdoor Cooking

My name is Jerry Daschofsky. I grew up, and still live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I'm an avid outdoorsman who loves to camp, fish, and hunt. Both my parents were excellent cooks, and I learned at a young age to cook myself. I've always cooked and still am the primary cook in my household.

I credit my camp cooking skills mostly to my Dad. He truly is my hero in this department, and he is the camp cook I've always strived to be. From a young age I can recall how efficient he was making coffee, flipping pancakes, and frying eggs while still being able to chit chat with other people in camp. Soon I was helping out, and eventually I was doing some of the cooking myself. As I got older, I soon found I was doing "camp cook" duties at our smaller camps. Most of this being done on old propane stoves and warped pans. As my skills grew, so did my want for something better. It wasn't until I came on board helping a friend run his fishing website that the "bigger and better deal" came into effect. We have big get togethers periodically during the year. The first event was big, but WAY under gunned for the cooking we needed to do. Most of the 3 burner stoves out there barely could cook two small pans on them. Great for cooking for a couple people, but not a couple hundred. I finally broke down and bought my first 3 burner camp chef stove with some misc. griddles. My eyes opened up and so did my efficiency cooking. Now I have three camp chef stoves (one 3 burner and two 2 burners), several misc griddles, a couple different grill boxes, and misc components. I've used only one or all three at once. Now, with some help from my friends, we can keep everyone fed at our "tillas". If I'm not cooking at one of these events, I'm doing a cookout at the family property down at a coastal river or doing a full blown BBQ at the house (I always keep my 3 burner tahoe setup on my back deck next to my BBQ).

I will say I truly enjoy all that's happened to me while being the camp cook. I've met many new friends and have shared my love of cooking with them. It's wonderful to see people's eyes light up when they realize how easy it is to setup these meals and get them fired up to buy their own grills. I must admit though, it seems that most of the time they'd rather have me bring my setup and do the cooking for them. It's ok, I enjoy it and look forward to the next event.
